Gain a greater understanding of the industry for investment and licensing purposes. Buying real estate is about more than just finding a place to call home. Investing in real estate has become increasingly popular over the last fifty years and has become a common investment vehicle. These real estate courses are offered by Manor College with the assistance of Manor’s Real Estate Advisory Committee, comprised of real estate professionals.


Real Estate Fundamentals (30 hrs)

Identify the essentials of conveying real property including analyzing the agreement of sale, and distinguishing types of mortgages, liens, encumbrances and ownerships. Apply practical applications of real estate concepts through illustrations and learned terms and definitions.

Real Estate Practice – 45 hrs.

Examine fair housing practices, licensing laws, rules and regulations and code of ethics. Calculate commission, explain the appraisal process and how to differentiate between approaches of estimating values, and demonstrate an understanding of capitalization and depreciation math calculations.

ACT 75 OF 2018

AMENDMENT TO SECTION 521 OF THE RELRA Act 75 of 2018 amends the requirements for real estate salesperson licensure. The educational requirement under section 521 has been amended from 60 hours of pre-licensure instruction to 75 hours of instruction within five years of taking the salesperson examination. Additionally, applicants for licensure as a real estate salesperson are now required to hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

The effective date of the law is August 28th, 2018.  Anyone completing any portion of the salesperson pre-licensure coursework prior to the effective date will only be required to complete 60 hours. Individuals who have not completed any portion of the coursework, even if they were enrolled in the courses prior to the effective date, will be required to complete 75 hours. Any applicant licensed after  the effective date of the act will be required to hold a high school diploma or produce proof satisfactory to the Commission of an education equivalent to high school preparation.

To obtain a Pennsylvania Real Estate license, one must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have 75 hours of Real Estate education:
    • Real Estate Fundamentals (30 hours)
    • Real Estate Practice (45 hours)
  • Successfully complete the state licensing exam
