Manor College is committed to addressing the basic needs crisis affecting our students and community.

We define basic needs as the fundamental resources required for your health, sense of belonging, and academic persistence. These essentials directly fuel your overall well-being and include:

•  Food
•  Housing & Shelter
•  Emergency Funds
•  Transportation
•  Foster Youth Support
•  Mental and Physical Wellness
•  Spiritual Wellness

Research shows that security in these areas directly correlates with improved mental health and professional development. Through targeted support programs and increased accessibility to financial resources, Manor College works to ensure no student has to choose between their essentials and their education.

The Manor College Food Pantry, called The Bird Feed, is located on the second floor of Mother of Perpetual Help Hall. Students and staff may visit the pantry and fill bags with perishable and non-perishable foods by simply providing a Manor student ID number. We ask that students and staff be mindful that the pantry is a shared community resource for emergencies.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps Pennsylvanians buy food. People in eligible low-income households can obtain more nutritious diets with SNAP increasing their food purchasing power at grocery stores and supermarkets. Those who are eligible receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) ACCESS Card to make food purchases. The Dean of Students can also assist students looking to apply for SNAP Benefits.

Manor provides assistance to students who are facing being unhoused or are facing losing their current housing. Limited short-term, on-campus emergency housing is available. Housing is available for 14 day cycles, with a maximum of 30 days. Students will work with the Dean of Students during this time to secure employment and secure housing. Students should contact the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@manor.edu to request a meeting regarding Temporary Emergency Housing.

Manor College is blessed to be able to offer students emergency funds, called SAFE Funds, to students facing financial difficulties due to an emergency.

SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) offers several ways to get around, including buses, trolleys, subways, and trains. You can take the Route 28 bus, which drops off and picks up in front of campus.

Additional transportation options are available for senior citizens and those with limited mobility:
Montgomery County Residents
Philadelphia County Residents

The SOAR Program at Manor College was designed to assist students who have experienced foster care or who qualify as independent or unaccompanied by providing resources to aid in their journey to obtaining a college degree.

Manor College recognizes that feeling well, both physically and mentally, helps students succeed. Physical wellness can be attended to in our Health Services office. Students with mental health concerns should seek assistance from Counseling Services.

Students seeking spiritual wellness have a variety of options. Our Campus Ministry Office works to nurture the development of religious faith and practice at Manor.

Manor College also offers an Interfaith Prayer and Meditation Room, a space dedicated for prayer, reflection, meditation or simply quiet contemplation for students, staff and faculty of various religious and spiritual beliefs.
