Wandell Scott

“This moment means a lot to me,” Scott said. “My journey hasn’t been easy. Being chosen shows me that all the hard work and sacrifices really paid off. I’m excited to speak from the heart and hopefully inspire someone else to keep going.”
Scott, a mother of six children, worked for years as a Certified Nursing Assistant after leaving high school in 1992 due to a high-risk pregnancy. She graduated from Northeast High School’s Educational Options program in 2021 and enrolled at Manor College the following year.
When she struggled with balancing life responsibilities with her education, Scott thought of her children, who became her biggest cheerleaders throughout the journey.
“I’d tell myself, ‘I can’t stop. I need to make my kids proud of me,’” Scott said. “My kids were my biggest support.”
Her advice to Manor College students is to follow your dreams and never give up.
“It’s never too late to go back and achieve your education,” Scott said. “Once you start, don’t stop. Keep going.”
Mirit Falkowski

“I feel excited about being a graduation speaker,” Falkowski said.
Falkowski holds a prior Bachelor’s degree in art history from Rutgers in 2015. Her advice to Manor College students is to communicate with your professors and advocate for yourself.
“Don’t wait until the last minute to ask for help,” Falkowski said. “Stand up for what you think is right. With integrity and advocacy, you never know what can happen.”
