Manor College Dean of Allied Health Sciences Jaime Simpson will serve as the 21st Annual Founders Day Ceremony on January 30.

“I am deeply grateful to the committee for placing their trust and confidence in me to share words of inspiration,” Simpson said. “I wholeheartedly believe in the mission and vision of Manor College. It ignites a spark in me, one I am eager to share with my Manor family as we continue to live out the ministry established by the Sisters of St. Basil the Great.”

Simpson came to Manor College in August 2015. In addition to her role as Dean of Allied Health Sciences, she serves as Director of the Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Program and Director of the Manor College Dental Health Center.

Simpson credits her grandmother for the inspiration to become an educator.

“My Mommom dedicated 22 years of her life as a Catholic school teacher at St. Anselm’s in Northeast Philadelphia,” Simpson said. “She was not only my mentor in education, but also a guiding influence. I strive to live by the same values she instilled in me – values rooted in faith, family, and a commitment to making a difference.”

Simpson holds an Associate’s Degree in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting from Harcum College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from West Chester University and a Master’s Degree in Allied Health from Widener University. Her continued passion for education comes from seeing young students become confident and knowledgeable.

“The transformation is to see the building blocks or puzzle pieces of each skill or competency come together in the end,” Simpson said. “To know that I was able to be part of that transformation is the biggest reward. To have a student return and thank me for all I have done personally, academically and professionally is the drive to keep doing what I am doing.”

Simpson hopes those listening to her speech are inspired to carry forward the legacy established by the Sisters of St. Basil.

“I want people to be inspired to forge a stronger path into the future,” Simpson said. “By living our mission with innovation and resilience, we can continue to build upon their foundation and create a lasting impact.”
