Manor College and Bucks County Technical High School announced a formal partnership that allows high school seniors to earn college credits in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA).

Under the program, students at Bucks County Technical High School would take EFDA credits during their senior year through a dual enrollment program. Following graduation, those students then attend Manor College and complete their EFDA certification.

“The reality facing the dental community right now is a severe workforce shortage for all dental professionals,” Jaime Simpson, Dean of Academic Programs and Program Director for EFDA, said. “Finding highly skilled, credentialed expanded functions dental assistants is one of the greatest challenges local practices face. This partnership is our direct, proactive answer to that very workforce challenge.”

The two institutions formally signed an agreement to the dual enrollment program on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in Manor College’s Basileiad Library.

Manor College’s EFDA program and Bucks County Technical High School shared several connections. Simpson taught foundational EFDA courses to Tracy Brasier, the Dental Health Careers Instructor at Bucks County. Brasier also currently serves as a clinical instructor at Manor.

Simpson praised the two institutions for helping to make the partnership a reality.

“By signing this agreement today, we are giving young professionals a head start towards an EFDA career, while also supporting local dental practices and strengthening our community healthcare needs,” Simpson said.
