Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Named 2020 REACH Chapter

The Xi Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at Manor College has recently been named a 2020 REACH Chapter. PTK is the official Honor Society of two-year colleges and recognizes scholastic achievement, leadership, and service. In order for students to be eligible for the chapter, students must be enrolled in an accredited institution offering an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of coursework, and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The REACH program encourages membership by rewarding chapters that achieve or surpass 15 percent in their membership acceptance.

Social Sciences Department Chair, Dr. Matthew Smalarz stated, “We are honored that Phi Theta Kappa awarded the Xi Chi Chapter with this important distinction. It’s a testament to our students’ relentless pursuit of academic excellence and unyielding efforts to earn their degrees from Manor College.”

Phi Theta Kappa member, Privish Sadaqat stated, “Phi Theta Kappa honor society has helped me to identify my true potential. I am honored to be a part of this prestigious intellectual community.”

Manor College will also be receiving four Phi Theta Kappa graduation stoles that will be distributed during graduation. PTK has recognized 690 chapters for their efforts and hopes to have even more students join this year.
