As Manor graduates, you have learned what it means to persevere through very difficult life challenges prior to COVID-19. Many of you work full-time, are essential workers, and are carrying for children and/or loved ones who may be sick. Although this has been challenging, it truly evident that you always had the right stuff. I wish you much success in your future endeavors-personally, professionally, and academically. And remember: Always pay it forward to the communities where you live and work. As college graduates, it is very important that we give back and encourage others to do so!  – Cherie C.

Dear Graduates, This is called “Commencement” because it is not just a conclusion of studies, but the beginning of an adventure for each of you. Your studies at Manor have uniquely equipped you to meet the challenges of that adventure. Why “uniquely”? Because the Ukrainian Catholic tradition represented by your teachers can give you spiritual and intellectual tools to meet life’s challenges which are different from all others, and which are particularly well suited to dealing with our confusing times. I wish you all God’s blessings in life’s great adventure! – Andrew S.

Read everything you can get your hands on. Scour thrift stores, flea markets, and library sales for used books. Pick a subject you never thought you’d be interested in and become an expert in it. The more you read the better you will write. If you can write well people will come to you for help. – William S.

Congratulations class of 2020!! What a year!! As I know, you are so glad this is over and ready to begin the next chapter of your life, what a way to end and begin it. Its heartbreaking not to be able to celebrate the way you envisioned it would be. The parties with family and friends, the congratulatory speeches and celebrations. But the one thing that I think you should take away from this is that, this is life and you need to be prepared. You never know when life is going to be interrupted and put on hold. Be prepared for the unexpected and the unknown. Set yourself up for success no matter what life throws at you. You can do it, with the right preparation, the right mindset and the right goals you can succeed. You didn’t get here by mistake, you made it here because you prepared and made goals. This is hard times for a lot of people but you will look back at this and remember it and learn from it. Always use difficult times as times to learn, grow and move on. Congratulations class of 2020!!! Well done!! – Gina B.

You can achieve anything you want in life as long as you always work hard and always believe in yourself. NOTHING is impossible! Congratulations guys you did it! – Katelynn B.

Class of 2020. What a special time to celebrate. It is hard to put into words what we are feeling during this pandemic. Feelings of sadness, pride, and hope. It marks the closing of one chapter and the start of a new one. During the last days of college, I found myself reflecting on that naive, insecure freshman I was coming into Manor College. I am sure most of us can relate to that sense of unknown we all felt on move-in day back in September 2016. With that said, I could not be more proud and confident going into the next chapter of my life. I am sure many of you feel the same way, and we have Manor College, and each other to thank for that. We have been taught to join in, to take risks and go after our dreams. To try new things even though we might get rejected. Our community lifts each other up when we have fallen, and celebrates our achievement! So, as we step into the next chapter of our lives, be positive, and resilient. Continue to take the risks necessary to further your careers and place in the community. So, fellow graduates, remember to dance, work hard, take risks, be inquisitive, and make us all proud, because we are, and always will be the Blue Jay of Manor College. – James B.

The sky is the limit for you, the class of 2020! Please know you will always be a part of the Manor College family and the Basilian community! We hope the love and support you have received here with forever encourage you to strive and live to your fullest potential! – Tom V.

Keep up the good work and stay #manorstrong – Mary Jo F.

Congratulations Class of 2020! This class is certainly a special class to have endured the challenges life has given us. Through all of this, you were able to continue to succeed and for that, you should all be very proud of yourselves! Wherever life leads you after this – into the working world, on to get your Bachelor’s, you will succeed, I have no doubt. Do not underestimate yourselves and reach for high goals! In life, things don’t come easy, it takes hard work – don’t let disappointments get you down and take them as a learning experience. With the education you received at Manor College and the support you will continue to have moving forward, you will be able to accomplish great things! Congratulations again!Stasia M.
