Medical Scribe 

InternU is currently seeking recent graduates for a Medical Scribe opportunity in the Philadelphia area. As a Medical Scribe (also referred to as a Clinical Assistant), you would be trained in medical documentation and be assisting a physician throughout their shift. The primary goal of a Scribe is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the physician they are working for. The Scribe allows the doctor to focus on what is most important, the patient. 

Responsibilities 

  • Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician 
  • Preparing progress notes for a physician:
  • Will identify reason for patients visit, ongoing patient problems, changes to medication, orders placed during last visit.
  • Begin assessment for physician:
  • “Pend” medications, tests, and lab work as requested by physician
  •  Help patient with any questions on follow up visit o Ex. lab testing locations/medication protocol/follow up a visit date

Skills • PreMed students! 

  • Scribes must be discreet, tactful, and modest in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care. 
  • Strong skills in the areas of Mathematics, Writing, Communication, and Computers. 
  • Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self- motivated 
  • Must be adaptable and versatile since you will be responsible for many tasks. 
  • Good attendance is also an important element of this job since you will be hard to replace.

Radiology Reading Room Associate 

Systems Support and Data Entry
• Assist Radiologists in all aspects needed to enhance productive workflow
• Proficiently utilize multiple IT and Radiology-centric computer systems
• Monitor system dashboard for critical result reports and facilitate doctor to doctor
communication. Must be able to accurately convey report information to healthcare providers.
Accurate documentation of interactions must be kept. Timeliness of task completion is critical.
• Accurately upload outside facility images and reports into Radiology Cerner system with
appropriate and accurate order information for interpretation by Radiologist
• Provide customers with images, in film or CD format when requested acquiring all necessary
consents and form completion
Communication
• Relays accurate patient imaging report information to appropriate personnel to include PPL,
referring physicians, emergency department etc.
• Reporting critical results in an efficient and effective manner to expedite safe patient care and
provide written documentation of communication to the Radiologist(s)
• Managing historical images by requesting from offsite storage
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers allowing for effective transfer of
information
• Fulfill requests from healthcare providers for patient reports. All PHI and HIPAA policies and
procedures must be understood and followed.

Radiology Technologist Assistant 

InternU  is seeking an Entry Level Radiology Technologist Assistant to work as an internal
employee for our Radiology Associate Program. In this role, you will be working internally for internU by
facilitating and enhancing the working environment for radiologists by improving workflow to increase
efficiency and productivity.

In this position, you will be interacting with hospital and departmental staff to support patient care
efforts. You will be responsible for assigned work areas, complying with hospital and departmental
policies and procedures as well as with directives of supervisors, and lastly, interacting with co-workers,
visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the hospital.

Job Responsibilities:
• Assists technologists with patients when required.

  • Brings the patients to the procedure room.
  •  Assists in lifting and positioning the patients for related studies.
  • Collates x-ray films, including new films, and places on viewers.
  • Communicates effectively with the patient.
  • Complies with policies and procedures of the University, Hospital, Department and Division.
  • Demonstrates reliability in meeting deadlines and completing responsibilities. Exercises
    good judgment in the care and use of equipment and supplies and other hospitals
    property.
  • Complies with the directives of supervisors and supports the activities of co-workers to provide the highest quality service in a cost-effective manner.
  • Takes responsibility of his/her assigned area.
  • Recognizes what needs to be done and takes action. Adjusts to changes in the work environment quickly and without complaint.
  • Conducts continuous assessment of equipment safety and performance.
  • Recognizes equipment malfunctions and informs supervisor
  • Takes equipment out of service when justified by malfunction or safety hazards.
