Dean, Division of Arts and Sciences/ Director of Graduate Programs
Manor College in Jenkintown, PA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Dean of Arts and Sciences/Director of Graduate Programs.
The Dean/Director will serve as a member of the Academic Affairs Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Dean Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise department chairs, program directors, faculty, and staff, including hiring, retention, and performance evaluation.
- Manage student related academic concerns, grade appeals and grievances and prepare recommendation for final review and approval from the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Manage division budgets, spending, and resource allocation within the Division.
- Lead efforts for the development of contemporary and innovative learning experiences and curricula.
- Keep faculty and the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs informed about important issues concerning the division.
- Oversee academic advising within the Arts and Sciences Division.
- Coordinate program tracking and advising forms from program directors.
- Assist the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs in development/review of curriculum advising guidelines and academic policies and procedures.
- Assist the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs in review and analysis of student learning outcomes and college-wide outcomes assessment.
- Attend meetings and committees as directed by the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Perform faculty duties as directed by the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Demonstrate commitment to promotion of diversity and inclusion across the institution.
- Promote and uphold the college’s Catholic Basilian institutional mission.

Director of Graduate Programs Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee graduate program curriculum development.
- Oversee hiring, retention and evaluation of graduate program faculty.
- Oversee and coordinate the administration and governance of graduate programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for graduate students.
- Act as the liaison among the graduate students, program faculty, and administration.
- Serve as the program’s representative on collegiate and/or University governance committees, as appropriate.
- Communicate relevant matters to the program faculty and to the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Receive, arrange for the review of, and monitor the progress of student applications and petitions.
- Orient and counsel graduate students with respect to program and degree requirements until a permanent advisor is selected and assist in that selection as necessary.
- Enforce regulations of the institution, the relevant collegiate unit(s) and the degree program.
- Assist in maintaining graduate student records and the annual student evaluation process.
- Provide periodic reports on the program and data.

Education and Qualifications:
- Doctorate in an academic discipline required.
- Minimum five years academic administrative experience at the Chairperson level or higher.
- Minimum five years teaching experience at the college level and three years teaching experience teaching online.
- Experience effectively communicating with various constituents including students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, trustees, and donors.
- Proven technology skills including Google applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Learning Management Systems.
- Excellent communication, collaborative, organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and success in creating positive, transformational opportunities for students.
