My name is Kristin Nolan and I would like to start off by thanking each and every one of you for being here tonight. I am truly thankful that I have had the honor of attending this special event. I graduated from Manor College as valedictorian in 2009 with a 4.1 GPA and an associate’s degree in accounting. My time at Manor was the greatest time of my life. During my time at Manor I was vice president of Alpha Beta Gamma, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa two of the most prestige international honor societies. I created lifetime friendships, had the ability to expand my knowledge with the help of my amazing professors, and figured out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Manor College made it possible for me to expand my education with La Salle University through their dual enrollment process.

I am currently a senior at La Salle University expecting to graduate this August with my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. I have dreams of getting my Master’s Degree in Accounting and getting my CPA. Over my college years, I have been given the opportunity to not only learn, but to also gain real world experience as well. Over the years I have had the privilege of interning for McKulley Cruisemire & Company, a small tax accounting firm in Jenkintown, and Johnson & Johnson in Skillman New Jersey where I learned so much about the field I am interested in, and networked with so many successful individuals. The success and experience that I have gained over the years would not have been possible without you.

You see, when I first started my college career, I would have never imagined all of the opportunities that I have been blessed with. When I was in my senior year of high school, I didn’t even think that college was in the picture for me. I mean of course, I always wanted to attend because I wanted to be successful in life, but my dad had just lost his job, my mom didn’t have a job, and I really didn’t think that I would ever be able to pay for college. That is until I got a phone call from Manor College telling me that I did in fact receive scholarships that would pay for my educational expenses. My family and I were so grateful and we still are because without this, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t have had the chance to make my life better, and I wouldn’t have had the chance to be successful.

So thank you, thank each and every one of you for making me the person I am today!
